In collaboration with Mujeres de Frente, Fundación EQUIS presents a unique workshop that merges autobiographical documentary filmmaking with stop-motion animation. This initiative taps into the therapeutic potential of storytelling, offering a space for healing, empowerment and community building among women with incarcerated family members. Over four days, six selected participants will explore their personal stories through guided exercises, discussions and hands-on animation training. Led by experienced facilitators, they will develop the technical skills needed to translate their experiences into short stop-motion films. Following the workshop, the completed micro-short films will premiere at the EQUIS - Feminist Film Festival of Ecuador (November 2024). This screening will serve as a platform for public dialogue and social awareness, amplifying the voices of women often marginalised in conversations about incarceration.
Fundación EQUIS is a non-profit organisation that promotes feminism through cinema.
