This theatrical project is a poetic investigation into the performance techniques of women from secret societies in the outskirts of São Paulo. The aim is to produce a community-based feminist theatre for people living on the periphery. The project also intends to broaden our understanding of the mechanisms that reinforce the exclusion and invisibility of women of colour.
Adriana Paixão, Debora Marçal and Flavia Rosa are based in São Paulo and invited four guest artists (Carol Ewaci, Jessica Nascimento, Livia Golden and Musa Michelle Mattiuzzi) to join the Gèlèdé project.
