Bar Talks is a queer web talk show that explores social-political issues in queer lives. It will be streamed from Möbel Olfe, one of the few surviving queer night bars in Berlin. We chose this venue because queer encounters flourish at night and also to bring attention to the shrinking of queer space due to neoliberal urban practices. In each 30-minute episode, two guests will be invited to discuss particular topics regarding queer identity, urban life and the social environment. The topics will be approached from personal, critical and entertaining perspectives. The talk show also aims to connect experts and address different views on queer urban life.
Noam Gorbat (b. 1983, Jerusalem) is a Berlin-based video artist. Omar Nicolas (b. 1987, Syria) is a Berlin-based multimedia artist, researcher and music producer.
