Migration is more than physical relocation; it is a journey that weaves together identity, culture and history. This project traces both the collective experiences of migration from Turkey to Berlin and a deeper personal account of the displacement of a family from North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania to Turkey in the 20th century. By retracing these movements, the project explores the echoes of migration across generations and the meaning of returning to Europe. The project will take the form of a multidisciplinary artwork, combining photography, video, mapping, text and archival materials. Interviews and collaborations with migrant communities in Berlin will connect this historical narrative to contemporary migration experiences, forming a dynamic platform where personal memory and collective histories intersect.
