In 2023 Austrian composer Peter Ablinger began transitioning the independent music publishing project ZEITVERTRIEB Wien/Berlin that he co-founded in 1999 into a modern digital archive. Now including the composers Klaus Lang (Austrian), Nader Mashayekhi (Iranian) and Catherine Lamb (American), the project aims to structure and catalogue over 700 works into an accessible and searchable database. Key priorities include preserving both Nader Mashayekhi’s works, which have often been overlooked, and Ablinger’s extensive body of compositions, which require urgent attention due to his illness. The project is committed to archiving the past but also to building a more inclusive and forward-thinking future in contemporary music publishing. Through the preservation of significant yet underrepresented composers, this project ensures that their contributions remain relevant and accessible, while embracing the possibilities of digital transformation.
ZEITVERTRIEB is a platform for uncompromising artistic exploration, pushing the boundaries of music publishing, performance and sound perception in contemporary practice.
