Via Verso is a collective, artistic initiative in the form of a walk, undertaken by two groups of dance practitioners and cultural professionals from Switzerland and Italy. A pilgrimage, walking meditation, moving symposium, parade and performance all in one, Via Verso is both a reflection and a statement on our present times, a response to a culture of overproduction and overconsumption. Along the way, the two groups will invite audiences to join the walk, opening up conversations and facilitating experiences through sensorial, physical and interdisciplinary activities. Over the course of the project, the artists will gather stories, impressions, ways of knowing, movements, gestures and objects to create an audio-visual and living archive.
The Zurich-based collective The Field (since 2019 artist-in-residence at Tanzhaus Zürich) and the Italian collective Base 9 both use choreographic ideas and dance practices as their main form of expression, exploring connections in close relationship with their surroundings and society at large.
