The non-profit gallery Giannozzo was a pioneering hub for sound art and fostered an interdisciplinary space for artistic experimentation in visual art, music and science. The Giannozzo Archive holds a vast collection of historical materials, including photographs, audio recordings, video footage, flyers and posters, many of which remain unpublished. The aim of the project is to organise, digitise and create an online database of these materials. By making the archive accessible for free, an essential part of sound art history will be preserved for future generations. While institutional repositories often limit public access to such archives, this initiative seeks to ensure its availability to a wider audience. The project will also include a retrospective exhibition to showcase the impact of Giannozzo on the evolution of sound art.
