The project aims to produce a publication that will provide access to unwritten histories of a recent past, the institutional and material archives of which are now either extant or full of gaps. The contributions to the book orbit around two central and intersecting themes. The first theme considers the mechanisms and articulations of solidarity in the arts, and the second, the transmission of a collective memory of actions that are neither recorded in history nor in archives. Given the prevailing politics surrounding the question of Palestine, we strongly believe it is more than ever necessary and vital to bring these recent histories to light.
