This project addresses the lack of mental health care for adolescents and young people in Croatia. It is divided into three separate stages: one, journalistic research on the increase in self-harm and suicide among young people; two, multimedia art workshops with high school art students focused on empowerment and raising self-confidence; and three, photographing and transferring students’ works, along with some factual information, to City Light Posters in four locations in Zagreb. The project is aimed at public indoor and outdoor spaces, with the focus on empowering local communities, parents and children to share mental health experiences. Research results and project documentation will be published on our website.
In her artistic activities, Nikolina Butorac (b. 1986, Zagreb) re-examines her responsibilities towards social and environmental events that surround her.
