Our brilliant, epic choir performance of approximately 40 minutes (Head of Clouds, Hand of Leaves) will explore the mystical story of the mandrake plant. We want to embed the mandrake in a contemporary context and use it as a means of understanding how we humans find our way in a world that is more mysterious than our minds can comprehend. The aim is to create a performance by two child choirs that is guided by singing, but which is repeatedly interrupted by text. The stage set and costumes we create can remain in the room after the performance, because we also see the piece as a work of art with permanence.
Nina Guo (American) is a soprano opera singer and Leonie Brandner (Swiss) is an artist.
