This project explores feminist approaches to resistance through writings, gatherings and exhibitions, reinterpreting the Cold War concept of non-alignment in today’s political and artistic landscape. The project challenges eroding autonomy in art and academia, rising authoritarianism and the weaponisation of global conflicts, and advocates for solidarity and freedom in public spaces. By grounding feminist art as a site of action, the initiative counters cancellation, silence and repression, and offers alternative strategies to confront structural violence and patriarchal mechanisms in an era of escalating global tensions. It critically examines the appropriation of non-alignment in contemporary politics, reclaiming it as a tool for artistic and political agency across diverse geopolitical contexts. The project embraces fluidity and fosters participatory artistic practices that connect activist, academic and artistic perspectives across diverse geopolitical contexts.
