This four-channel video installation features footage from surveillance security (CCTV) cameras and is made from recordings of simultaneous, instruction-based performances employing speech, movement choreography and music. The neo-avant-garde and Fluxus artist György Galántai founded Chapel Studio in Balatonboglá, a venue for progressive artistic initiatives that existed from 1970 to 1973, when it was shut down by the Hungarian regime. This installation evokes themes of Chapel Studio and addresses such issues as the control of power over society and the individual, the relativity of the interpretation of freedom of expression as well as current possibilities for overcoming oppression in both thought and practice.
