In collaboration with Guinea Bissauan musician Mû Mbana and marking the 140th anniversary of the Berlin Conference, we will invite musicians, scientists and a priestess for a cinematic ritual at Funkhaus Berlin. Through multiple perspectives and knowledges, the project will reveal cinematic experience as an environment of material inquiry, transformation, change and healing. DESACTA (unact /untie) is not only a critical film essay that will raise awareness about the premises of the Berlin Conference, but also a cinematic celebration of the enchanted and magical dimension of earth‘s material resources; it will be as much a hopeful ceremonial journey as a sonic and optical caring and healing service.
