In partnership with Studio Ting Shuo, this project creates a radio experience that connects local artists, visitors and global listeners from Tainan, Hilversum and Berlin. The two curators Francesco Zedde and Eugenia Seriakov explore the city’s layers by making field recordings that capture echoes of the Indo-Pacific and by interviewing people from both alternative and traditional cultural scenes. The broadcast features improvised live performances by regional and international artists who are linked to the organisation Ting Shuo Hear Say and the curators’ networks, creating unique sonic exchanges between the Eurasian continents. Performances will be aired on FM radio, streamed online and archived. Contingent Snapshot offers a glimpse into an evolving collaboration unfolding on-site and remotely.
