The Gwärtler Foundation Grant supports work in the arts that seeks to make a concrete difference to the context in which it is presented. The grant is specifically geared towards practitioners in all of the arts who are just getting started on a project and may need support for a wide range of activities, such as:
- trawling through archives
- connecting with people from other disciplines
- active fieldwork
- cross-cultural collaboration
- conducting interviews
- taking courses
- organising workshops
- experimenting with techniques
- voluntary apprenticeships
- durational exercises  
- and more.

The grant does not cover the acquisition of hardware, tools or equipment.
Amounts for successful applicants, of up to a maximum of 12'000 Euro, will be determined according to the application and the funds available for each funding round.

The Gwaertler Grant is the only stream of funding currently available for 2022. New funding initiatives will be announced as they are launched later in the year. 


There is no obligation from the foundation to provide funding.
